Support My Journey
Dear Friends & Colleagues,
I have participated in the Scotiabank Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer for a number of years now, but in years past it was it was simply because it's a great cause to support an incredible healthcare institution in Toronto like the Princess Margaret. This year it's more personal... My Mother returned from a week long cycling trip in late May and felt more tired than usual. The fatigue continued and slowly got worse to the point where my folks went to see a doctor about it. After running a barrage of cardiac tests, her heart was given the all clear, but they found something else - stage 4 pancreatic cancer that had metastasized to her liver and her lungs. She was given three months to live. This totally blindsided our family.
But with her typical positive outlook on life, she's not letting cancer define her and she's going skydiving in a few weeks for her 67th birthday. So we're going to try and make something positive out of this too and I've set a personal goal of trying to raise $25,000 in the next 90 days before the tournament.
With the generous support and donations from my friends and family I intend on reaching my goal amount so I can truly help make a difference in the fight against cancer! It’s time to get off the bench and into the game, so please consider supporting my fundraising campaign a donation – any amount helps.
