Support My Journey
Every 3 minutes
another Canadian is diagnosed with cancer.
Whether it’s someone’s husband or wife, mom or dad, sister or brother, son or
daughter, we all know someone who’s been touched by cancer.
Some of you know that I
have spent the past 14 years participating in various cancer fund raising
events, beginning with the 60 kilometer epic weekend long walk known
affectionately as the “Weekend to End Breast Cancer”. I have many
wonderful and rewarding memories from all the events that I have participated
in over the past 14 years. I am proud and privileged to have been a part
of so many great experiences. My personal mission to do my part to
Conquer Cancer in our lifetime is not over.
On September 29th
I will continue to do my part by once again participating in the ROAD HOCKEY TO CONQUER CANCER. This is a
Dawn-to-Dusk event with the proceeds going directly towards The Princess
Margaret Cancer Foundation. The Princess
Margaret is the largest institution of its kind in Canada devoted 100% to
conquering cancer. Fundraising events like ROAD HOCKEY TO CONQUER
CANCER support breakthrough research and discovery of new, more effective
cancer fighting therapies. The Princess Margaret and its research arm,
the Ontario Cancer Institute, have achieved an international reputation as one
of the top 5 cancer research centres in the world.
The Road Hockey to
Conquer Cancer funds are being used to support and ensure the sustainability
of the leading cancer research initiatives at the Princess Margaret Cancer
Centre. A big focus is on the Personalized Cancer Medicine program. There are four general areas where these
funds are directed (within the various cancer site groups):
Detecting cancer earlier
Diagnosing with more precision
Targeting treatment for each patient
Supporting patients and families throughout their cancer journey
With the generous support
and donations from you, my colleagues, friends and family, I will be able to
reach my personal goal – AND together as a team we will WIN against
Please consider supporting my fundraising campaign by making a donation –
because any amount will help.
I thank you all very
