Support My Journey

Welcome to my many past and present supporters:

This marks my 6th year as a participant and proud Team Member of the Ovarian Blitzers, a top fundraising road hockey team in the SCOTIABANK® ROAD HOCKEY TO CONQUER CANCER event being held this year on September 29th.

Why do I continue to do this you ask?  Well, its personal, which includes my own fight against cancer back in 2003 and the fight (and sadly, the loss) of family members and friends over the years.  I believe without all of us being truly proactive, to fight this disease, the odds are stacked against us. This is why I do this.

Upon moving to my new home at Yonge & Sheppard 7 years ago, I had the privilege to meet Dr. Marcus Bernardini where I began to learn what his team of professionals do daily at the Princess Margaret Hospital --> to research and improve the care of women with gynecologic cancers.  Since that time, this incredible team of individuals on the Ovarian Blisters have raised over $300,000 towards this fight......and we return again this year but with a bigger goal --> to raise $120,000!

How we make the century mark? With fun and inspiring fundraising events including my Blitzer Bowl To Conquer Cancer event to be held tentatively on September 9 with my amazing hopefully returning sponsors which include:

Over 173,800 estimated new cases of cancer in Canada are expected this year along and 76,200 of these cases will result in deaths - so it's time to take PROACTIVE ACTION to support the continuation of critical research and the work to help improve the care of those living with this terrible disease

With the generous support and donations from my friends, family, colleagues and partners, I intend on reaching my goal amount of $15,000 so we all can truly help make a difference.

With my thanks, your Bowl Master & Proud Ovarian Blitzer,

KevyD (aka Kevin)
