8 years and counting!

Hello All of my Family and Friends!
If you’ve known me throughout these last 8 years, you’d probably know that every year around this time I play in a Road Hockey Marathon that is organized to fundraise for the Princess Margaret Cancer Research Centre. I’ve been playing in this tournament since it’s inauguration in 2011, and for the last 5 years I’ve been the captain of “The Avengers”, which is a team comprised of myself together with Family and friends from various stages of my life. In the past 5 years I’m proud to say that The Avengers have raised close to $90,000 and the event as a whole since 2011 has raised upwards of 15 million.
When I first started playing my main goal was to raise enough money to make myself eligible to play in the tournament, hockey being my main focus. As I’ve grown and heard the stories from both family and friends, my goal has turned to raising enough money to ultimately defeating this deadly disease.
The team takes our Game day to support our loved ones battling Cancer, and to honour those that we’ve lost.
Throughout the years I’ve learned that I’ve lost family members to Cancer, and I’ve also seen relatives beat it, which has strengthened my resolve to continue to participate in this event. Just this weekend I found out my uncle who took care of me every day after school was diagnosed with Lymphoma.
On September 29th, the event will be taking place at Woodbine Racetrack and I invite everyone to stop by and see the magnitude of this event. Tons of local celebs will be in attendance and there’s great fun for all ages!
Thanks Everyone for taking the time to read this!
