SUPPORT MY JOURNEY - OVER $216,000 RAISED IN MEMORY OF LEX SINCE 2009 to support cancer research

HELP US FUND RESEARCH TO FIND A CURE!

2018 will be the 8th consecutive year team LEX will participate in this event to raise money for cancer research.  Most of my teammates have been there every year with me in memory of Alexis.

2017 was extra special as our team raised over $35,000 - more than any other year - the leading community-based team (of 24) - and 11th of 154 teams.  Personally, with your donations, I was the 8th largest fundraiser with over $16,000 raised and was invited to play in the celebrity vs top fundraiser game.  With the extreme heat, our goalie, Steven Levitt, volunteered to play goal for the top fundraiser team - both of us playing against some of our hockey heroes of the past.

Our celebrity was Dave "Tiger" Williams - who was quoted in a video later that day stating that he "played with an awesome group" (he also stated that he was the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd star).  During the celebrity / top fundraiser game, he was the only celebrity not to cover his team jersey with the red one the celebrities were supposed to wear.  I did feel a little emotional seeing the two LEX 28 jerseys (mine was covered by the top fundraiser black jersey) being a major role in front of hundreds of people - even the video / pictures picked up the picture of LEX on the sleeve.  He had glowing comments about us when I saw him the next day at an autograph signing with Al Iafrate at my friend, Hersh Borenstein's store - Frozen Pond. Alexis lost her 6+ year war with acute lymphoblastic leukemia ("ALL") on December 29, 2010 while in Tel Aviv (28th in Toronto) recovering from the experimental haplo-identical stem cell transplant and t-cell therapy as a result of a liver infection.  Despite the many ups and downs she encountered, she was strong throughout.  Over the past 7+ years I have seen and read about other significant advances in cancer treatment - cancer research is evolving every day - your continued support does help find cures / treatment for cancer.
